Rockin’ Fashion Week at the Blogger Mixer in NYC

by

Saturday night was the New York Fashion Week Blogger Mixer to kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City.  Hosted by Beyond Beauty Basics‘ own Paul Baranda and Lianne Farbes (TheMakeupGirl), the event was held at Wet Bar at the W Hotel New York on 39th and Lex.

The evening party was attended by many great beauty bloggers, so naturally we saw some fantastic outfits.  I was wearing one of my favorite looks (pencil skirt and t-straps) and Paul had on a great tie and vest combo.  Everyone was definitely wearing their Fashion Week best – I couldn’t stop paying compliments to all of the fashionable bloggers.  It was great to meet Lianne Farbes – she’s so amazingly talented!  Also on the scene was our very own and favorite celebrity makeup artist, Victoria Stiles (VictoriaStilesMakeup.com), who even after our party, was back at the tents early this morning to bring us backstage coverage.

In addition to all of the blogging talent in the house, the evening was topped off by the presence of some very special guests: celebrity hair stylist and TLC’s What Not to Wear hair guru,  Ted Gibson and master colorist and co-owner of Ted Gibson Salons,  Jason Backe!  How often can you say you went to a party and they were there?

Some important notable bloggers in attendance were: Erika Valente (MakeupBag.net), Amber Katz (BeautyBloggingJunkie.com), Anne Fritz (TheJetSetGirls.com), Daneen Baird (SpoiledPretty.com), Julia Coney (AllAboutthePretty.net), Teri Cosenzi (BeautifulMakeupSearch.com), Marina Klimasiewfski (MakeupLovesMe.com), Nadine Jolie (JolieNadine.com/blog), Michelle Mismas (AllLacqueredUp.com), Marta Walsh (TalkingMakeup.com), Patrice Yursik (AfroBella.com), Jamie Sanders (theBeautyofLifeBlog.com), and many others!

But what’s a party without eats and drinks?  The Wet Bar has really great appetizer platters (mmm… mini eggrolls) and manager Tony Davis’ staff made special bubblegum “Bloggertinis.”  Of course, I drink Champagne like I’m P. Diddy, so I enjoyed sipping the bubbly all night long!

Very special thanks to our special guests and our generous sponsors at Caress, Pond’s, Degree, Q-tips, Suave, FragranceNet.com, Ted Gibson, and Crazylibellule and the Poppies, who all contributed to our special event and gift bags for our attendees.  It was great to meet so many talented bloggers, our special guests, DailyMakeover.com‘s team and Beauty Bloggerati, and all of the PR reps from these and other fantastic companies.

Last but not least, thank you Lianne and Paul for planning such a wonderful evening.  I’m looking forward to more events with our blogging community!

Happy Fashion Week!
