Samantha Ronson spun songs from the forties, songs you would want to jitterbug to, at her sister Charlotte Ronson’s show. Before the lights dimmed, I caught Samantha snuggling with Lindsay Lohan, who was dressed in one of Charlotte’s cream, long sleeved cut out shirts and a pair of tight black pants. The two mingled in the DJ booth until the show started and Lindsay was
escorted to her front row seat by body guards. Later backstage, Charlotte told us the “show was inspired by my sisters,” and the mix of feminine and masculine suggested just that. It was a family affair–as Samantha spun, sister Annabelle modeled, and brother Mark watched from the front row with Lindsay. The collection offered lots of black leather and details galore: zippers, cut-outs, gold hardware, and sequins. The softer moments in the show feature plaid, floral, and jacquard prints. Some were perfectly sweet; I loved the jacquard printed silk dress with shoulder cut outs. There was some tough hardware details on the dress, too, which gave it that “I’m sweet, but don’t mess” with me look…an attitude I sense from all the Ronson girls.
