This Spring/Summer we’ll all be wearing printed dresses. Seen on the catwalks at everywhere from Marni to Prada, they’re a great, simple way to introduce a bit of fun and color back into our wardrobes for the summer months.

Over at Prada pastel dresses were decorated with cartoon Cadillac’s, whereas Marni opted for bright 70s inspired flowers. But if you’re not into novelty prints there are other ways to incorporate fun prints into your wardrobe, and something to suit every personality.

Stripes are an understated, style classic and are particularly flattering. Opt for abstract blocks of stripes in contrasting colors or vibrant multi-colored stripes to make you stand out from the crowd. If you’re feeling brave and looking to try something a bit different go for digital print dresses. Inspired by a relative newcomer to the fashion industry, Mary Katrantzou, digital print is proving to be a big trend for next season. Choose from animal print, floral print or quirky, abstract print. Digital print dresses are head turners that will keep your look fresh and show off your individuality.

So whether you choose novelty prints, stripes or digital prints, remember to have fun with your look. Go for individual, quirky dresses and wear minimal accessories to avoid pattern overload. You can even create a versatile look by pairing them with heels for work or a night out and dress them down with a pair of masculine brogues or pumps for daytime chic! I try hard every day to look the best that I can when I leave my home. You never know if you’re going to meet your next employer, investor, husband, wife, etc. and if you aren’t somewhat put together, destiny may move in another direction.

Just because most of Hollywood looks as if they rolled out of bed, doesn’t mean that we all have to look that way too.

Bathe, comb and style your hair, wear clothing that fits well and suits your body type. (Ladies) At minimum, put on some lipstick and mascara and dab your favorite perfume on your pulse points.

Now that you look good, you’ll feel great. Others will perceive you as being the truly outstanding person that you really are and it didn’t take all that much effort.
