Red and Orange, Green and Blue, Shiny Yellow, Purple Too!
Black is definitely a wardrobe staple. An LBD, little black dress, is the go-to for occasions both dressy and casual. But sometimes it’s nice to add a shock of color to your wardrobe– it’s a way of changing things up and adding drama to the basics. Summer is definitely the time to try out new shades. Check out the celebs who are embracing their colorful side, too…
Here are 5 easy ways to add color to your wardrobe:
- Shoes. Shoes are a perfect way to add a pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit. Red heels are always in trend, but for more comfort go for a ballet flat with flair. Calvin Klein makes an adorable red jungle print flat–and it’s currently on sale!
- A Cardi. Jessica Alba adds color to her business-like outfit with a purple cardi. Get the same look from the Gap—their summer cardigan in purple heath is lightweight and cheery.
- Wrap it up. Scarves are a great way to add color and texture to an outfit. I like Love Quote scarves; they can be seen on everyone from Lauren Conrad to Lindsay Lohan. The scarves are super long and come in colors like Sunshine, Blue Pearl, and Tusan Garden. Best of all: each one comes with an inspirational quote.
- Whether long or short, dresses are always effortless and girlie—buy one in blue like Kaley Cuoco or turquoise like Kourtney Kardashian. If you want to go long, Gypsy 05 makes the best, most comfortable maxi dresses that scream summer.
- Blouses. Lady-like blouses are going to be big this fall. Leighton Meester was seen wearing a canary yellow ruffle wrap version while filming Gossip Girl. For a similar look try Banana Republic. Their cotton, silk ruffle blouses can be worn with pants, jeans, or a high waisted pencil skirt.
