Top 8 Ways To Deflect Your Faults

by S

Many women already know, if you have a physical feature that you don’t want people to look at, you show them something else that’s more impressive.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s the overweight issue.

Here’s some hints to deflect people away from looking at areas you don’t want them to:

  1. Wear solid colors
  2. Don’t wear things that cling, knit fabrics tend to show more faults than others
  3. Make sure your hair and make-up are always perfect
  4. Make sure your nails are always manicured
  5. Wear trendy shoes (Christian Louboutin shoes, $550.00)
  6. Buy trendy handbags (Marc Jacobs bag, $1395.00)
  7. Wear Big Rings and Bracelets
  8. Wear classic silhouettes with straight lines

Here are some things to avoid:

  • Stripes going around the area of concern
  • Bright colors on the area of concern
  • Small scarves or necklaces on a big neck
  • Small rings and bracelets on large hands and wrists
  • Short skirts
  • White Hose

Everything (accessories) should look proportionate to your size. If everything is in the right scale for you, nothing will appear glaringly large.

I have a good friend that is overweight. She dresses like she’s the most glamorous woman in the world. You don’t really even notice that she’s bigger than she would like to be.

Accentuate the positive.

The Bob is the Biggest Trend!!

by Beyond Beauty Basics

All the Celebs have been sporting the cute Bob hair cut, however, some of them are fooling us! You too can have this sassy new do without having to actually cut your hair!

Eva Langoria was recently on the red carpet in an adorable curly cropped do, but she didn’t cut her hair at all. It was just pinned and curled. The trick is the layers. If you have a layered hair cut, you too can easily create this cute new look.

Just take your long layers and tuck and pin them up at the base of your neck. Be sure to conceal them with the top layers. A little curl always helps to keep everyone guessing because it is easier to hide the longer pieces that way. Remember, there are no rules, you just pin up the longer layers and keep the shorter layers on top. I have tried it and it worked great, I fooled all of my friends! Everyone thought I cut 7 inches off my hair! It took no more than 10 minutes to place and pin the hair up to give me a whole new look!

If you don’t think you can do it, invite a friend to help, you will be surprised how easy it is to do. Also, add a little product like mousse before blow drying to give your hair a little texture, this way it will be easier to pin up. Have fun!

Send us a pic! We would love to see a before and after and we will showcase you and your new look in our blog!
