Floris was founded by Juan Famenias Floris in 1730 London. Juan set up shop as a barber and comb maker. He soon missed his passion for fragrance…and thus, the Floris fragrance house begins. Floris at one point made over 100 different fragrances (which has been considerably paired down since then). The quality of all their products is outstanding. It’s obvious why this product has been around for so many years.

Floris retains two Royal warrants (which means that whomever’s warrant is on the product, they endorse it as being of a high enough standard that they would consider using it (or actually do).Floris is still family run (and owned) and in it’s eighth generation of descendants of the original founder. It’s shop (amazingly) remains at the same place of its origin at 89 Jermyn Street in London.

With all this history in place, now we can get onto the product.

My absolute favorite scent in the line is Grapefruit and Rosemary.

It’s a more sour than sweet grapefruit smell, but delightfully fresh and clean. The room spray as well as the candle immediately removes ANY unwanted smell from your powder room as well as from any other room of your home.

This week in US weekly, Jessica Beil is said to love the new Mangosteen soap from Fresh. This sweet soap is the latest addition to the Fresh soap family and it is absolutely scrumptious!!! I had to go out and try a bar myself, because as you all know, I am a huge fan of Fresh.

Fresh soaps are known for their beautiful packaging, I mean, I didn’t even want to open mine up! So I bought two!!! After I finally got over having to rip through the gorgeous paper, I got to experience the soap and I love it! Then I had to investigate this fabulous scent… come to find out, Mangosteen is actually a real fruit from southeast Asia and it is delicious! I went to Whole Foods and got one to try, and it tastes exactly the way it smells! This purple fruit is white on the inside and you scoop it out with a spoon almost like you would a grapefruit. The inside is white and pulpy with an amazing sweet citrus is bursting with flavor.

Tell me no secrets and I’ll tell you no lies. No one needs to just look at you and know that you went out for the past three nights and got absolutely no sleep.

I recently stopped by the Prescriptives counter to check out what might be new and low and behold, a custom concealer! If you have dark circles and you’re not the average Caucasian woman, you may have had difficulty at some point finding a concealer that matches your skin and actually conceals. Search no more! This concealer comes in whatever color you need because they actually make it for you (as you wait) based on your individual coloring (if you don’t know already, they also make custom foundations).

The texture of the concealer is also adjustable. Alone, it’s a matte consistency. If you find that it’s too matte, they add an oil-free moisture additive, it’s that easy. It has great coverage and sets on its own so you don’t need to powder over it (and risk being cakey under your eyes).
