L’Oreal’s Telescopic Mascara Does Give Your Lashes Up to 60% More Volume and Length!

by Beyond Beauty Basics

telescopic_mas.jpgPenelope may have been caught wearing false lashes for the ad for L’Oreal’s Telescopic Mascara, but I have to say, I love it!!! I am obsessed with mascara, as you all know, and I got my hands on this one recently and I love the color, the texture, and the way my mascara looks all day!L’Oreal’s Telescopic Mascara is a new favorite of mine, and I also want to share another tip… when applying your mascara, be sure to only take the wand out once, don’t keep pumping it for color, you will dry out your mascara quickly and it will get clumpy. Also, when actually applying the mascara to your eye, blink through the brush, you will get a thicker, fuller, longer lash and if you blink, your eye does the work, not the mascara, so you will get the length you are looking for and the full black color you love without a lot of work. You really will get the look of falsh lashes without the glue and mess.

Remember, you can always go in for a second coat if your mascara isn’t too dry. Especially if you are going out from work or a long day and you need to re-apply for a night out on the town.

Neutrogena Makes Eye Makeup Remover Easier Than Ever!

by Beyond Beauty Basics

Neutrogena has just launched Ultra Soft Eye Makeup Remover Pads. They are small, soft, lightweight, and they feel great on the skin. I only use waterproof mascara, so I am always on a mission to find an eye makeup remover that actually does what it says, and I have found it!First, there is no oily residue like other wipes or pad-like eye makeup removers, and I just hate it when you get makeup off your eyes, but it ends up on your face, well not with these. Your makeup slips right off your eyes and onto the pad, no mess and no smears.

Next, you get 30 in one jar, and they are small enough to keep in your bag just in case you get caught in a situation and need to get makeup off fast, or if you get home late and need to get to bed but don’t want to waist time messing with stubborn eye makeup. Just start using these in the car on the way home, and by the time you get there, you can rinse off the rest of your makeup and go right to bed. Don’t forget to brush your teeth of course!

And finally, they are safe for even the most sensitive eyes, and also safe for those that wear contact lens.

At only $7.99 a jar, you cant go wrong. Check your local drugstore or online at Drugstore.com, that’s where I found them for only $7.19!

Waxing, Tweezing, Threading, Laser Hair Removal or Depilatory?

by Beyond Beauty Basics

spa-waxing.jpgMany women (and even some men) have excess hair on there face, arms, back, bikini area or other body parts that they would like to have either permanently or periodically removed. If you don’t want a major expense all at once, and the area is large (such as your arms or legs) go for the wax or depilatory. The wax will (more than likely) hurt, but unless the person performing the waxing uses too hot of wax, most people are pink in the area for a few hours and that’s it. Depilatories, as they are a cream, usually don’t hurt (unless you have an allergic reaction) and can also remove large areas of unwanted hair quickly and efficiently.

Tweezing and threading are traditionally used for the eye area and most skin specialists will agree that waxing in the eye area may cause (over time) the skin to have less elasticity and become “crapey”.

Permanent removal of hair anywhere is not a one time and you’re done deal. Laser hair removal usually takes at least three sessions, can be quite painful and is of considerable cost. It is, however (once finished) permanent and you won’t need to pay for waxing or tweezing again and the pain’s over.
